Persian Bookbinding; From Seljuqes to Qajars
A book with an exquisite bind with picturesque decorations of flowers and birds, filled of anthropomorphic and creatures, would be an encourage for readers. Persian binder artists create novel methods of binding, using earlier successful experiences, which founded later evolutions in types bindings including Zarbi, Sukht, Varnished, textile, and syncretic. Present volume attempts to investigate evolutions of binding methods through history, while summarizing the art of binding in Iranian civilization. It is also a categorization and analysis of types of Persian binding from tools and material, technic and design point of view.
