Ramin Jahanbegloo is an Iranian philosopher and intellectual. In April 2006, he was arrested on his way to a conference in Brussels and incarcerated at Evin Prison—accusations of espionage followed, and eminent figures like Shirin Ebadi, J. M. Coetzee, and Umberto Eco publicly called for his release.
